Grace Ann and Adam had a classy wedding at the Scarritt-Bennett Center and reception at the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville.

We started taking Grace Ann and Adam’s getting ready photos at the historic Hermitage Hotel. The Hermitage is a great place to host your downtown Nashville wedding. The hotel opened in 1910 and named for Andrew Jackson’s estate The Hermitage near Nashville. Many presidents and celebrities have stayed at this hotel such as John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Charlie Chaplin. In fact, when I arrived I heard rumors that Jennifer Lopez was staying there since American Idol was shooting in Nashville. While we were out shooting we confirmed that rumor when she arrived with her entourage.

The day before their wedding I scouted out the Hotel for good locations to take pictures and I was blown away at the distinctive architecture. We were originally planning on doing the first look at the Scarritt-Bennett Center but after seeing the Veranda room at the hotel we decided to change it. The Scarritt-Bennett center is great but we had a limited time to take pictures there since they host more than 1 wedding per day. The Veranda is on the 2nd floor above the grand-staircase at the hotel. It is a long social room with tables and chairs. What I liked most about it was the large windows overlooking the street below that gave us beautiful natural light. This is where we took a majority of the formal photos of the bridal party and Grace Ann and Adam. One of my favorite photos is of Grace Ann and her bridesmaids looking classy sitting in the Veranda. It looks like something out of a magazine.

After the first look we took a few shots of Grace Ann and Adam in the hotel then traveled over to the Scarritt-Bennett Center. Once we arrived we took all the family photos then a few more bride and groom shots around Scarritt-Bennett. I have shot at Scarritt-Bennett a few times before including Grace Ann’s bridal photos and I love the way the pictures turn out.

The wedding ceremony was inside the Wightman Chapel of Scarritt-Bennett. It is a very photogenic wedding chapel featuring tall ceilings, stained glass windows, and gothic architecture with a 90 foot center aisle. All this to say Grace Ann and Adams wedding ceremony was wonderful. After the bird seed formal exit we headed back over to the hotel for their reception. They had their first dance in the beautiful grand ballroom of the hotel. We ended the night by taking photos in the famous Hermitage Hotel green and black restroom.

Below are a few photos from their amazing wedding. Don’t forget to leave a comment below and let them know how much you loved their wedding!
